For the first time ever aquarists can test the nutrient ratios in their aquaria making them visible and allowing them to adjust accordingly. For over a decade TRITON has researched which nutrients are beneficial for the closed system reef aquarium and developed the first set point ratios for reef keeping, the TRITON Ratios. Furthermore common problems that have plagued our hobby for many years can now be addressed. TRITON has developed targeted treatments, based on a deeper understanding of the the conditions that are at the core of the problem, resolving issues and preventing their return. This approach is contrary to many of the band aid solutions found on the market and is more successful long term as it is based on nutrient management in the reef aquarium.
N-DOC Lab Testing
Deliver insights into complex organic systems in seawater: Carbon and Nitrogen
Use the TRITON Ratio (N:C:P*) to manage sources of nutrients and control their influence on corals, bacteria and algae in reef aquaria.
(*Note: P value measured separately via recent ICP test or manually)
Eliminate problems caused by blind dosing
Use for problem solving and determining the need for corrective water changes
Trouble shoot common problems such as tissue necrosis, nuisance bacteria and algae blooms and cyanobacteria
Measure true Alkalinity, free from external influences
Each TRITON LAB ICP water analysis provides an accurate snapshot of the water quality in your system. We analyse a comprehensive suite of macro and trace elements crucial to healthy function of your reef system:
Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Potassium (K), Strontium (Sr), Boron (B), Bromine (Br), Sulphur (S), Lithium (Li), Beryllium (Be), Barium (Ba), Titanium (Ti), Vanadium (V), Chromium (Cr), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe), Cobalt (Co), Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Aluminium (Al), Silicon (Si), Arsenic (As), Antimony (Sb), Tin (Sn), Cadmium (Cd), Selenium (Se), Molybdenum (Mo), Mercury (Hg), Phosphorus (P), Phosphate (PO4), Lead (Pb), Iodine (I), Tuncsten (W), Scandium (Sc), Lanthanum (La)
Note: TRITON LAB is continually innovating and expanding the scope of elements and compounds reported to our customers.
Over time the composition of sea water in closed system aquaria departs from that of Natural Sea Water through biological consumption, conversion and external contamination. Regular TRITON LAB testing of your sea water will detect trends in the consumption, conversion and contamination of elements before they become lethal to your living investment. As you gain confidence in the stability of your closed system the interval of testing can be reduced.
